Bronze Sculpture

Richard makes his life size Maquettes using sketches and referring to ideas that come from making earlier pieces. They are cast at the Locbund Foundry and then Richard applies the patination. He can also prepare the stone or oak bases and install the sculpture.

Requiem Series

Approximately 2.1 meters high on the base and can be rotated by hand. Thinking on balance and connection to sculpture that has a human stature.

Focusing on the overlapping shapes of line and void and can also be rotated. Thinking on the contemplative connection to abstract forms.

The Moebius strip sculptures have one surface and one edge and can be rotated. Giving a life and different views to connect with.

Undulation Series

These sculptures focus on creating a form that has ribbon like quality. A thinner cross section to the bronze gives the lighter feel.

Adagio Series

Carrying on with similar forms, working with a slightly heavier cross-section. Looking at the shapes in-between. The sculptures can be rotated.

A series of sculptures thinking on a heavier texture and different colour patination on the two surfaces. The sculptures can be rotated.
